How will you manage your vaccination checks when you open?

How will you manage vaccination passports once we can reopen?

With the start of restrictions lifting mid-September for vaccinated people, it’s only a matter of time and planning before clubs will be opening their doors.

We are going to have to live with the virus long term and vaccinations are the key to restrictions lifting.

Reading between the lines at this stage, customers and staff who are fully vaccinated will reap the benefits of newer freedoms- especially in high-risk venues such as clubs.

So, we need to ask what preparation can we do NOW to hit the ground running on day one?

What conversations are you having with your team around vaccinations and their safety in the workplace? Clubs NSW have drafted a letter to staff regarding Voluntary Vaccinations & incentives to get the vaccination.

What communications are you pushing out to your members regarding vaccinations on reopening and getting them back into the venue on day one? Then, of course there is the added step of ensuring they understand the technical side of entry requirements with the new vaccine passport and covid check in card being put in place. I’m sure a refresh of their Services NSW app will be needed to accommodate this.

Fast forward to day one- How will you prepare your staff and systems for a smooth check in process?

Some things we can all do before reopening are:

-Do a test run of all systems with staff to ensure there is an understanding of its workings.

-Make sure the staff know the QR check in options with phone, card or printout.

-Create a plan for your welcome line run from front desk to out the door- ensuring there is room for distancing and exit

Then think about how you are going to communicate all of these procedures with the staff. Have you thought about using BuzzConnect to create a staff reopening journey? Even if a staff member doesn’t work at reception, its critical that every staff member walking into the Club can answer questions around sign in procedures and eligibility of entry.

We all can’t wait to be back again – so what are you waiting for – as Gladys says its time to dust off the covid safety plan and get ready to open your doors again!

I think the biggest thing to consider is who will be on the door for sign in. There could be a lot of conversations around vaccines and pushback. Ensure your staff have been well informed about your policy and that they have a phone a friend in place if things get a little hairy.

As the unfolding of the lifting of restrictions and our doors opening will present itself in the coming weeks, I’m sure we are all eager and exiting to get back to our new normal
